About this project

A mechanics guide, not a comparison site

Play Limits explains how the player-protection controls inside a gambling account actually behave and where each one stops. It exists because those tools are widely offered, unevenly implemented, and almost never described in terms of what they fail to cover.

How this site is funded

This site carries an affiliate link to a partner destination. If a reader opens an account through that link, the site may receive a commission. That is the whole funding model: no advertising network, no sponsored articles, no paid placement, and no operator or provider pays for a page to be written in a particular way. The link is marked as sponsored wherever it appears, and a disclosure block sits on every page rather than only in the footer.

Affiliate funding is a real conflict of interest, and the honest response is to state it plainly and then keep the content unaffected by it. The rules below are how that is done here. It is worth being explicit about one consequence: a site funded this way has no incentive to tell a reader that the best limit is zero, and this site will not pretend otherwise. A reader for whom play is no longer recreational should treat the free support services in their own country as the primary source, not a page like this one.

The editorial rules

  1. 01

    No operator is named

No page states that any product offers, applies or respects any particular control. The subject is the mechanics, not a product.

  2. 02

Practice is described as common, not universal

Tools, names and waiting periods differ between operators and jurisdictions, and the text says so instead of quoting a rule that does not exist.

  3. 03

Weakness is stated, not smoothed over

A reminder is described as a reminder. The gaps page exists precisely so that a deposit cap is not mistaken for a loss cap.

  4. 04

    No advice to any individual

There is no correct limit, and this site does not suggest figures for anyone. It explains what a control does and how to tell whether it is doing it.

What this site is not

It is not a review site, a casino comparison, an audit, a treatment service or a crisis line. It does not verify anything on anyone's behalf, offers no legal, financial, medical or gambling advice, and cannot state what controls exist on any given account. If play has become a source of harm or stress, the operator's responsible-gambling page is one starting point and the free national support service in your own country is a better one; neither requires an affiliate link from anybody.

Disclosure: this page carries an affiliate link to gamdom.com/r/csgo2026. If you open an account through it we may earn a commission. It costs you nothing extra and it does not change what we write. 18+. Gambling involves risk and can cause serious financial harm. Controls reduce how much harm an ordinary unlucky session can do; they do not make play profitable and they do not lower the house margin on any stake.
